As other lodges are still in dark, we at Mt. Moriah always have some activities to get us busy in the summer. We recently initiated our 3 new Entered Apprentice and I would like to congratulate Bro. Ross Abraham and the rest of the line officers for an excellent ritual work. On our first meeting this month, WBro. Bob Kamps will make a presentation about the American Flag along with a surprise which he will reveal that night.
Then on August 15, to celebrate the completion of the major interior renovation that was done at Mt. Moriah Masonic Temple early this year, we will be holding a Re-dedication Ceremony. Our temple hasn’t seen such kind of renovation since its erection 45 years ago. Thus, it is fitting to celebrate this milestone. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the Brothers who have labored to make this happen. The ceremony will be conducted by Grand Master Kostas “Gus” Vourvoulas and his Grand Line. I encourage you to come and join us in this momentous event and have the opportunity to witness a rare Masonic tradition in this day and age. I would like to thank WBro. Wayne Penley Sr. for organizing this event.
In collaboration with other lodges (Tuscan #202, Corinthian #93, Perry Hall #235 and Jephthah #222), Mt. Moriah will be participating in the Order of the Rusty Nail Degree that will be held at Oak Crest Retirement Community on August 22, at 7:30PM. This will be a refresher course for all Master Masons residing at the community in the due guards, signs, grips and passwords of the three degrees.
On August 29, we will hold a special communication to have the class stand proficiency in the EA degree and confer the FC degree on Bro. Sorin P. Sandor, if found proficient. The rest of the class will be conferred on our first regular communication in September.
For the upcoming Senior Warden’s Night on September 19, we are planning to hold a Table Lodge. This will surely be a great evening of Masonic fellowship celebrated over wine and food. More details to follow once event details are finalized.
Finally, I am proud to share the birth of our second daughter on the 10th of July. We named her Caroline Grace, in honor of my late mother.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Randie V. Ursal
