First of all, I would to thank the Brothers who attended the re-dedication ceremony and to those who helped in making the event a success. We have close to 80 people in attendance and it was such a memorable experience to witness the whole ceremony.
A couple of months ago, the WM of Tuscan Lodge, WBro. Wayne Penley Sr., approached me with a proposal that they want to merge with Mt. Moriah. A meeting was held last month between their committee members and ours to discuss the terms of the merger. We find their request to be very reasonable. We also do not see any circumstance that puts Mt. Moriah in an unfavorable position. For these reasons, I approved that the committee will present to the lodge the proposed merger on our first meeting this month. I encourage you to come and listen to what this means to our lodge. We will then be voting on this proposed merger on October 17.
Also on our first meeting, we will be conferring the Fellow Craft degree on the current class.
As previously communicated, our Table Lodge will be held on September 19. The cost is $10 per person and we will open lodge at 7PM. This will be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy fellowship with your Brothers over food and wine and to experience one of the unique Masonic traditions. Kindly make your reservations ASAP.
Lastly, as our children go back to school and the season slowly changes to autumn, let us reflect on what took place this month 16 years passed. Let the horrific event of 9/11 be a constant reminder to all of us that we remain watchful and guarded against those who want to shake the foundation of our democratic values – liberty, justice and equality.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Randie V. Ursal
